MCC November Update

Good evening to our Fabulous MCC Community

I hope you are all well – keeping warm and DRY!!!

Having a few issues with MyCricket removing our PDF newsletter, so below is our November Club Update, without the pics lol

What a start to the season – beautiful weather for the first couple of Rounds and then …. not so good – that’s our Melbourne!

Given no Montmorency Park Oval this season, our displacement has been a bit of a logistical nightmare, but hats off to all of our wonderful MCC community who have taken it in their stride and are making it work.

Last weekend, a fridge was purchased for the Beale East Reserve matches together with a BBQ, Central Park received a second fridge and HUGE thanks to the MJFC, as we now have access to Petrie Park Pavilion to enable storage of stumps, cones, scorers table & chairs etc for U12 matches fixture there, which I believe came in real handy last Friday night, to keep everyone out of the weather.

Just a quick update on all capital works :-

1. Montmorency Park oval resurfacing – irrigation signed off last Tuesday, Drainage 99% finished, sand expected this week for laying, turf to be rolled out in approx. 2 weeks
2. Simms Road – roofing over the remaining north facing deck to be COMPLETED early next year
3. Montmorency Park Nets – still awaiting scope of project from Council

This Saturday night – 7pm at the Montmorency Park Clubrooms, $30 per person, BYO nibbles & drinks at bar prices.

Make sure you don’t miss out on what will be a fun filled night – Friends & Family Welcome!! If you are planning on attending, please RSVP to our wonderful social coordinator Carly via email or tick going on the event on our social media platforms – to enable sufficient tables to be set up prior to the night and payment can be made on the night.

Good luck to our many junior players who are currently trialing for REP cricket duties & congrats to junior player Keely and former junior player Renee on making the U17 Northern Falcons team for the upcoming State Championships.

Pretty impressive to once again be fielding 5 senior teams and we have had a pretty impressive start with the top 3 grades. The 4ths & 5ths have also been tracking well, also giving heaps of opportunity to our junior player’s development – thanks to coach Trap and captains Jack, Harro, Obe/Sedgy, Ned & Planty.

Matty is once again doing a SUPER awesome job, assigning and entering all senior teams & results, as our club is always open Thursday & Saturday nights, huge thanks to Squizz and Sedgy for always ensuring there is something to eat on a Thursday night and most importantly, the players, for making an effort to get back to the rooms Thursday’s after training and after matches Saturday. P.S. Thanks to John for arranging the outdoor heater at Montmorency Park, for the summer sport we play…plus the other 3 he roped in to put it together.
